WHAT ARE DILATED CAPILLARIES?
Dilated capillaries, also known as broken capillaries or spider veins, are small, visible blood vessels that appear just beneath the skin’s surface. They often present as red, blue, or purple thread-like lines, commonly found on the face, nose, and legs. These tiny blood vessels become enlarged or damaged due to factors such as sun exposure, aging, hormonal changes, genetics, excessive alcohol consumption, and skin trauma.

While dilated capillaries are harmless, they can be a cosmetic concern for many individuals. Fortunately, various treatments can help reduce their appearance, including electrodessication, and laser intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy.
